Vascular Birthmarks

The most common types of vascular birthmarks are macular(“flat”) stains(“angel kisses”), hemangiomas(“strawberry marks”), and port-wine stains. Some are not present at birth but may become visible early in life.

Hemangiomas may grow rapidly or may occur in areas such as around the eyes or mouth that interfere with function. Vascular birthmarks may be treated with our FDA-approved Pulsed Dye Laser, which is even safe for newborns. In some patients, multiple treatments may be necessary.
